There’s a moment after leaving abuse that no one prepares you for.
The crisis services fade.
The adrenaline wears off.
And suddenly, a woman who fought so hard to escape is left standing in a quiet yet overwhelming space, wondering what comes next.
At AlchemHer CIC, this is where our work begins.
We exist to bridge the gap between escape and long-term stability, providing trauma-informed support for women who are rebuilding their lives after domestic abuse. Our focus is on emotional well-being, safety, empowerment, and helping women find solid ground again; emotionally, mentally, and practically.

AlchemHer CIC wasn’t born from theory. it was born from lived experience.
After surviving seven years of abuse and finally finding the courage to leave, I expected life to suddenly make sense. But instead, doubt crept in. There were moments I questioned my decision. Moments I felt the pull to go back, because financially it seemed easier, and emotionally it seemed to make more sense. Moments where, distance from the chaos, I began to minimise what I had survived and romanticise the idea of “reuniting the family unit.”
Even though I was safe, there was still instability. Emotional chaos. Practical challenges. Temptations. Loneliness. The kind of silent battles women that women don’t like to talk about as they feel like they’re burdening the person listening.
What I needed didn’t exist, a space for women after leaving, where we could support one another, anchor one another, and draw strength from each other’s progress when our own felt shaky.
So I created it.
AlchemHer began as a support group built on honesty, community, and compassion. A space where women could stabilise, rebuild, and stay committed to their new lives without slipping backward.
I am now over two years out of my abusive relationship, and I credit that to AlchemHer. To the community. To the shared strength. To the understanding that healing is not a straight line, but a journey held together by support, knowledge, and connection.
AlchemHer is the resource I needed when I left, the resource that is still far too scarce within domestic abuse support services.
And now, it exists for every woman who finds herself standing in that same uncertain place, trying to build a new life while fighting the shadows of the old one.
Why We Exist
The truth is simple: survivors deserve more than survival.
Many women leave abusive relationships only to face fear, isolation, shame, and uncertainty. Many don’t know where to turn. Many feel like they have to heal alone.
AlchemHer CIC was created to change that.
We offer:
- Trauma-informed emotional support
- Post-exit wellbeing and empowerment programmes
- Safe community spaces
- Practical guidance for rebuilding confidence and independence
- Digital resources accessible from anywhere
- A compassionate environment where women are seen, heard, and supported
Our mission is not just to help women break the cycle of return but to help women go on to rebuild and thrive in their new lives.
What Trauma-Informed Support Means to Us
Being trauma-informed is not a slogan.
It’s how we show up.
At AlchemHer, we honour every woman’s pace, autonomy, and lived experience. Our approach is built on:
- Safety
- Choice
- Empowerment
- Dignity
- Understanding the impact of trauma
- Respecting cultural, emotional, and personal diversity.
Women are never pushed.
They’re guided, supported, and held with care.
The Meaning Behind AlchemHer
Alchemy is the art of transforming something heavy into something valuable.
“Her” represents every woman reclaiming her life after abuse.
Together, AlchemHer means turning pain into strength, trauma into wisdom, and survival into empowerment.
This is a space where her healing is powerful.
Where her voice returns.
Where her identity rebuilds.
Where her future opens up again.
A New Chapter Begins
This is our first post, the starting point of something bigger, something meaningful, something that will touch the lives of women who need it most.
Whether you’re a survivor seeking support, a professional looking to collaborate, or someone who believes in the empowerment of women — welcome. You’re part of this movement.
AlchemHer CIC is here to walk beside her.
To strengthen her.
To support her transformation.
And to ensure no woman has to navigate her rebuild alone.
